Remote Working Ergonomics Checklist
Remote Work Ergonomics Assessment Tool
Overview
A Remote Working Ergonomics Checklist is a structured self -assessment tool used to evaluate the ergonomic adequacy of a home office or remote workstati on — covering the chair, desk, monitor, keyboard, mouse, lighting, and working environment — and identifying adjustments, equipment additions, or behavioural changes needed to reduce ergonomic risk for employees working outside the conventional office envi ronment. As remote and hybrid working has become standard across IT, financial services, and corporate functions in India, the ergonomic risks of home office environments — including unsuitable furniture, poor lighting, inadequate workstation setup, and la ck of movement — have emerged as a significant and growing occupational health concern. Remote working checklists are typically completed by the employee — with guidance and follow -up support from an ergonomist or trained ergonomics champion.
