Production Process Redesign is the ergonomic restructuring of manufacturing or operational workflows — examining how tasks are sequenced, how long each task is performed, how materials flow, and how workers interact with machines and equipment — to reduce the ergonomic demands of production work and protect workers from the musculoskeletal disorders that accumulate through sustained exposure to poorly designed processes. In many manufacturing environments, ergonomic risk is built into the production process itself — not the workstation — and addressing it requires a redesign of how work is organised and performed, not just how the workstation is set up.
ErgoTatva works alongside production engineers and operations managers to analyse current production workf lows — mapping task sequences, cycle times, force requirements, posture profiles, and worker rotation arrangements. Ergonomic risk is quantified using validated assessment tools appropriate to the task type, and process redesign recommendations are develop ed collaboratively — balancing ergonomic improvement with production efficiency, quality, and operational constraints.
Production processes that are ergonomically optimised deliver a dual return — healthier workers and more efficient operations. Reduced ta sk monotony, better rotation, lower force requirements, and improved workflow design all contribute to lower injury rates, reduced fatigue, higher concentration, and better quality outcomes. Production Process Redesign is not a cost — it is an investment i n the sustained performance of both the people and the process.
Our certified ergonomists are available across India. From workplace assessments to complete ergonomic redesigns, a conversation is all it takes to improve employee health and productivity.
