A New Employee Workstation Review is a focused ergonomic assessment conducted for each new joiner — ensuring that the workstation assigned to them is correctly configured for their individual physical characteristics, that any adjustments needed are made b efore they begin work, and that they understand how to use their workstation correctly. Most musculoskeletal problems among new employees develop not from inadequate equipment but from equipment that has not been adjusted to fit the individual using it — a chair set for the previous occupant, a monitor at the wrong height, or a keyboard too far from the body — problems that are trivially easy to fix at the outset and increasingly costly to address after injury has developed.
The review is conducted by a qua lified ergonomist or trained ergonomics champion — measuring the employee's physical dimensions, evaluating the workstation against ergonomic criteria, making or recommending specific adjustments, and providing brief, practical guidance on workstation use and posture. Where standard workstation equipment is insufficient to meet the employee's ergonomic needs — for example, due to physical disability or unusual anthropometric requirements — alternative equipment or modifications are recommended.
New Employee Workstation Reviews are the ergonomics equivalent of a pre -employment health check — they establish a safe starting point for every new joiner and signal from day one that the organisation takes its employees' physical health seriously. Combined with a Ne w Employee Ergonomics Induction, they provide a comprehensive ergonomics onboarding that protects new employees, reduces early MSD risk, and builds lasting confidence in the organisation's commitment to worker welfare.
Our certified ergonomists are available across India. From workplace assessments to complete ergonomic redesigns, a conversation is all it takes to improve employee health and productivity.
