POSH Compliance, Internal Committee (IC) Setup & Annual Return Filing

Workplace Legal Header

What is a POSH Compliance, Internal Committee (IC) Setup & Annual Return Filing?

The Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act 2013 — the POSH Act — requires every employer with ten or more employees to constitute an Internal Committee for receiving and redressing complaints of sexual harassment at the workplace. It mandates employee awareness programmes, defined complaint and inquiry procedures, and annual reporting to the District Officer.

Non-compliance with the POSH Act — including failure to constitute an IC, failure to conduct awareness programmes, or failure to file annual returns — exposes organisations to penalties, regulatory action, and significant reputational risk. Beyond compliance, an effective POSH framework reflects an organisation's commitment to a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace.

EGSS provides comprehensive POSH compliance support — including Internal Committee constitution and training, POSH policy development, employee awareness programmes, support in managing complaints and inquiries in accordance with the Act's requirements, and annual return preparation and filing — ensuring that organisations meet their obligations and build a genuinely safe workplace culture.
