Legal Due Diligence — Standalone

What is a Legal Due Diligence — Standalone?
Legal Due Diligence is a structured investigation of an organisation's legal and regulatory compliance status — conducted in the context of a transaction, investment, acquisition, financing, or other event where a clear understanding of legal risk and liability exposure is essential to informed decision making. The assessment evaluates the organisation's compliance with applicable environmental, health, safety, labour, and industrial laws — examining licence and permit status, consent conditions, outstanding regulatory directions, litigation and enforcement history, legal register adequacy, and the overall legal risk profile of the business or asset.
It identifies material legal liabilities, areas of non-compliance, and the remediation actions and costs required to bring the organisation into full compliance. EGSS conducts standalone legal due diligence engagements — and also integrates legal due diligence into broader EHS and ESG due diligence assignments — providing investors, lenders, and acquirers with a comprehensive, evidence-based assessment of the legal risk associated with a target business or asset.
