Consent for Discharge (CFD) — SPCB Support

Licensing & Header

What is a Consent for Discharge (CFD) — SPCB Support?

Consent for Discharge is a specific environmental permission required from the State Pollution Control Board for facilities that discharge treated effluent to surface water bodies, sewers, or land — authorising the discharge subject to defined quality standards and volume limits. Obtaining and maintaining a Consent for Discharge requires demonstrating that the facility's effluent treatment system is capable of treating effluent to the required standard before discharge, that monitoring and reporting obligations are being met, and that discharge quality is within the consented limits.

Non-compliance with CFD conditions can result in enforcement action, consent cancellation, and significant environmental and reputational damage. EGSS provides end-to-end CFD support — from initial application preparation and SPCB liaison through condition compliance management, monitoring programme coordination, and consent renewal — ensuring that facilities maintain their discharge consents and remain compliant with the conditions under which they are granted.
