Thermal Imaging (Thermography) Audit

What is a Thermal Imaging (Thermography) Audit?
A Thermal Imaging Audit — also known as a Thermography Audit — uses infrared thermal imaging technology to detect abnormal heat signatures in electrical systems and equipment — identifying hotspots, loose connections, overloaded circuits, failing components, and insulation deficiencies that are invisible to the naked eye but represent significant fire and equipment failure risks. The audit is conducted under normal operating load conditions — scanning switchboards, distribution boards, motor control centres, transformers, bus bars, cable terminations, and other electrical equipment with calibrated infrared cameras.
Temperature differentials are measured and assessed against acceptance criteria — with findings classified by severity and prioritised for corrective action. Thermography audits are a cost-effective, non-invasive preventive maintenance tool that can identify electrical defects before they escalate into equipment failures, production stoppages, or fire incidents — making them particularly valuable for manufacturing plants, data centres, hospitals, and any facility where electrical reliability is critical.
