Fire Risk Assessment

What is a Fire Risk Assessment?
A Fire Risk Assessment is a systematic evaluation of the fire hazards present in a building or facility — assessing the likelihood of a fire starting, the potential consequences if one does, and the adequacy of existing fire safety measures to protect occupants and the structure. The assessment examines ignition sources, fuel loads, means of escape, fire detection and warning systems, fire suppression arrangements, emergency procedures, and the vulnerability of occupants — to determine the overall fire risk level and identify the controls needed to reduce it to an acceptable level.
It is a fundamental requirement for all buildings in occupied use and is increasingly required by institutional investors, insurance providers, and development finance institutions as part of property due diligence — making it one of the most universally applicable fire safety services EGSS delivers.
