Social Compliance Audit

What is a Social Compliance Audit?
A Social Compliance Audit is an independent evaluation of an organisation's adherence to applicable labour standards, workplace conditions, and social responsibility requirements — conducted against internationally recognised frameworks such as the ILO Core Conventions, SA8000, ETI Base Code, or buyer-specific codes of conduct. The audit examines working hours and wages, freedom of association and collective bargaining, child and forced labour controls, health and safety conditions, discrimination and harassment policies, disciplinary procedures, and management systems for social compliance — providing an objective assessment of the organisation's social performance and compliance status.
It is widely used by multinational buyers, brands, and institutional investors to assess social compliance in their supply chains and investment portfolios — and is increasingly required of Indian manufacturers, exporters, and service providers seeking to access global markets or attract institutional capital.
