Science Based Targets (SBTi) Support

What is a Science Based Targets (SBTi) Support?
Science Based Targets are greenhouse gas emission reduction targets set in line with the level of decarbonisation required to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement — limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. The Science Based Targets initiative — SBTi — provides the globally recognised framework and validation service for corporate science based targets, and is increasingly required by investors, lenders, and supply chain customers as the credible standard for corporate climate commitments.
Setting science based targets requires a complete and accurate GHG inventory, selection of the appropriate target-setting methodology for the organisation's sector, development of near-term and long-term targets that meet SBTi criteria, and submission of targets for validation by the SBTi. The process also involves developing a credible implementation plan — identifying the specific actions, investments, and operational changes needed to achieve the targets within the required timeframe.
EGSS supports organisations through the complete SBTi journey — from GHG baseline development and target calculation through submission, validation, and implementation planning — providing the technical expertise and process management needed to achieve credible, validated science based targets.
