Employee Well-being Assessment

What is a Employee Well-being Assessment?

An Employee Well-being Assessment is a structured evaluation of the physical, mental, social, and financial well-being of an organisation's workforce — identifying the factors that support or undermine employee well-being and providing recommendations for building a healthier, more supportive work environment. The assessment examines workplace physical conditions, workload and work-life balance, management practices, social connection and belonging, access to well-being support and resources, financial security, and the overall organisational culture — using surveys, interviews, and focus groups to gather employee perspectives alongside analysis of available health, absence, and turnover data.

Employee well-being is an increasingly important ESG consideration — with evidence linking employee well-being to productivity, retention, safety performance, and long-term business resilience. It is a growing area of investor scrutiny and a key component of the S in ESG — reflecting an organisation's commitment to the health and quality of life of the people who work for it.
