What is a Structural Safety Audit?

A Structural Safety Audit is a technical evaluation of the structural integrity and safety of a building, facility, or civil structure — conducted by qualified structural engineers or safety professionals against applicable design standards, building codes, and safety regulations.

The audit examines the condition of structural elements including columns, beams, slabs, foundations, roofing systems, and external cladding — identifying signs of distress, deterioration, overloading, or non-compliance with applicable standards.

It is particularly relevant for ageing industrial facilities, warehouses, high-occupancy commercial buildings, and any structure where structural failure could result in loss of life or significant operational disruption.
