What is a Environmental Audit?

An Environmental Audit is a systematic evaluation of an organisation's environmental performance, compliance status, and management practices. It examines how an organisation manages its environmental aspects — including air emissions, effluent discharge, waste generation, water consumption, energy use, and land use — against applicable statutory requirements and environmental management standards.

The audit identifies non-conformances, areas of environmental risk, and opportunities for improvement — providing management with a structured, evidence-based assessment of the organisation's environmental footprint and legal standing.

It is applicable across manufacturing, infrastructure, healthcare, hospitality, and any sector where environmental compliance and impact management are regulatory or stakeholder requirements.
